History

AlliedBarton Security Services, headquartered in King of Prussia, PA is the largest American-owned contract security company in the United States. We have been providing quality security services and highly trained personnel since 1957 to clients in a number of industry sectors, including commercial real estate, higher education, healthcare, residential communities, manufacturing and industrial, financial institutions, shopping centers and other commercial facilities.

Barton Protective Services founded in Atlanta, Georgia

1980
Spectaguard founded in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania

1999
Spectaguard acquires New York-based Effective Security

2000
Spectaguard acquires Allied and combines to form Allied Security - the third largest security company in the United States

2003
Allied acquires Professional Security Bureau (PSB)

2004
Allied acquires SSI

2004
Allied further adds to its depth of resources with the acquisition of Barton Protective Services to form AlliedBarton Security Services - creating the largest American-owned contract security services company in the United States

2006
AlliedBarton further enhances the quality of our security offerings to clients with the acquisition of Initial Security
